Castle
Learn how Castle selects a suit each round, counts matching discarded cards, and when its permanent +3 Chips scaling is worth the discard cost.
Verdict: Take Castle when the deck can feed several suits without breaking its hand plan; do not spend essential scoring cards only to force a small upgrade.
How Castle counts discards
- Only cards matching the suit shown for the current round add to Castle's permanent Chips.
- Each matching card is counted separately, so discarding several target-suit cards in one action gives several +3 upgrades.
- The requested suit changes every round; previous upgrades remain even after the target changes.
Scaling without damaging the build
- Use spare off-plan cards of the target suit first instead of discarding cards needed to form the scoring hand.
- A deck concentrated in one suit will have strong rounds and weak rounds as Castle rotates through suits.
- Compare the next +3 upgrades with the value of preserving discards for hand fixing before committing resources.
