Mail-In Rebate
Learn how Mail-In Rebate selects a rank each round, pays $5 for every matching card discarded, and when chasing the target improves your economy.
Verdict: Use target cards that the current hand does not need; do not weaken the scoring plan merely to collect one more $5 payout.
How the target pays
- Every discarded card matching the displayed rank pays separately, including several matching cards in one discard action.
- Cards of the target rank only pay when discarded; holding or playing them does not trigger Mail-In Rebate.
- The selected rank changes each round, so the available payout changes with the cards still present in the deck.
Profit versus hand quality
- A common target rank can create a large payout, but those cards may also be important to the intended poker hand.
- Take free money from off-plan target cards before breaking pairs, straights, or other scoring structures.
- Once the run no longer needs short-term cash, compare the variable payout with a more reliable Joker slot.
